Officer, it’s not my gun.

I was arrested at the Newark airport in 1984 for trying to board an airplane with a gun.  I was on the road doing standup and I believed as long as it wasn’t loaded, I could take my 38 Special on the plane.  That was not the case.  I was arrested and handcuffed and put in the back seat of a police car.  On the way to jail, I thought of all the things I could say to avoid having to include “convicted felon” on my resume.  Things like: “I’ve already been on nine flights with my gun – what’s the problem?” -or- “I’m from L.A. so I’m pretty sure your New Jersey laws wouldn’t apply to me.”  -or- “You can dust me for gun residue, I haven’t shot anybody.”  -or- “When I said I killed them in Cleveland, I meant my act.”  It never occurred to me to say, “Officer, it’s not my gun.  And this is not my suitcase.  And those things are what?  Are you serious? Bullets?  I thought they were gum!”  Com’on!!

lol…I agree Kathy. Jenny looks the same to me, all but her hair…
You need to read her book. It’s a great read! I’m a softy and Jenny’s book made me cry. She had a rough life trying to find happiness and I’m glad she found it:) Jenny succeeding like she has with her life as of today has made me put her upon a pedestal because I rarely see woman like her struggle and then succeed for what they wanted in life. I love and adore Jenny for the strength she shows to other women including myself 🙂
Oh and by the way, I love Jenny’s blog also. I guess I need to get a life as well…lol…j/k…I dont think me nor you should get a life, because I feel it’s only right and fair to Jenny to let her know she is truely an awesome person coming from us fans. She talks about hate mail and I hate that she gets those, so we as fans need to inform her she is not hated by everyone 🙂

Dang you even look good in a mug shot! WTH!!!

So did you get out of it? I need to send for your book. I have had lots of company lately and my mind just isn’t focused yet! I spent 5 days with a 1 y/o babbling and crying in my home everyday….cute but I’m too old for this stuff!! Loved her but loved to wave bye bye when the time came!

I am currently dealing with distributing 1000+ books that are all brand new in my garage. My son-in’law is cleaning out a womans home that is a hoarder. It is really sad. She never even opened one of the books to read. Just tossed them in a corner. The mind is an amazing thing…her husband passed away suddenly 5 yrs ago and that is when the hoarding started. We are going to make up boxes to send to the soldiers in Iraq to pass around to read. So it might be awhile before I get to your book! LOL

Jenny I look forward to reading your blog it makes my day…I know, I know…I should get a life!!
