Remembering…

Nine years ago today, we were getting ready to tape two shows.  I was still at home when I saw what first appeared to be a terrible accident, so I drove in to work.  Once in the makeup chair, we had the TV on and I soon realized it was much more than an accident.  I quickly met with the executive producer and we agreed to cancel the shows. Our studio was in a high rise building in downtown Chicago and along with much of the staff, I left the building out of fear that we might be next.  I vividly remember driving back home with a sick feeling in my stomach, knowing that things would never be the same.  Denis and I watched TV all day and all night, in disbelief.  My prayers go out to those who lost family and loved ones that day.

I like the saying. “What makes us weak will make us stronger” and that’s what keeps me on the positive side of it. We can’t let this get us down too low we got to rebuild and be like we were before this happened. It’s tough but we are a strong country and we’ve got to push forward 🙂
This day always brings me down to the lowest point because I remember where I was and how it made me feel. I was on vacation that week. Friend from WA flew out for the week and we went to Tybee Island (Savannah, GA) on a Monday. The next morning my friend’s boyfriend called to know if we were watching the news, which we didn’t have the tv on, because we were about to leave to go out for breakfast, shopping, a dolphin tour and have an enjoyable day but not the case. They shut everything down historical and where crowds were so pretty much the town was a ghost town. 🙁
We headed back home eariler than planned because of what happened. It was a very sad day 🙁 and it still saddens me when this day rolls around, because I try to remember those who lost their lives on the day of every year, because I feel we have to remember and never forget the people who’s lives were taken from this tragedy 🙁
God bless the families who lost a loved one in such a senseless act…

Me too, Jenny…..I remember exactly where I was, exactly what I was doing. Sorta like when Kennedy was shot.
    Very sad, indeed. 🙁

MANY prayers to anyone who lost a loved one and a big THANK YOU to all those fighting for our freedom and who FOUGHT for our freedom.

    Becky
