Hospice
We came back from Las Vegas last night after my stepmom’s husband was taken to a hospice. It’s a comfort to us all to have him there. My thanks to everyone for their kind words and prayers.

I am sorry to hear this news but he will be kept very comfortable in his last days. Hospice is a wonderful place and it will be a comfort for your stepmom too.

Jenny, you and your dear family are in my prayers. Hospices are such wonderful facilities that we have!
I thought of you the other night, Jenny….I went to the theatre in Fort Worth, Texas called Casa Manana (www.casamanana.org) to see “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” starring Ruta Lee. Got to meet Ruta afterwards—what a sweetie she was, talked to me for a long time. Also met Ruth Buzzi….hilarious! She sat by me during the play. 😀

In my opinion, Hospice is the best. We wouldn’t have had it any other way. They are your comfort as well as the patient’s. Kathy is right in what she said before… I wouldn’t have had it any other way with my Dad having Hospice. He didn’t want to go to one, he wanted them to come to the house. What he wanted, we did and Hospice was there when they had to be…
You all did a good thing here for your Stepmom’s husband and I’m glad you all went with Hospice and asking for their help, because it does help having others outside the family to be so caring for everyone involved…
