Hotel hell

While in Vegas, Denis and I stayed at one of the nice hotels there and everything seemed normal. Normal usually means I can’t wait to leave. I want my own bed, my own sheets, my kitchen, my good bathroom lights, a better TV, and air that doesn’t smell like a hotel room. Sometimes, it’s the smallest thing that can ruin a hotel stay. Like a hair. One teensy-weensy hair (that’s not mine) in the bathtub and I want to call the health department. I think we know the smaller the hair, the more likely it came from somewhere you’d rather not think about, on someone you’d rather not know. So I showered instead and got a full body exfoliation afterwards… oh wait… that was the bath towel. It turns out that the people who make industrial grade sandpaper also make hotel sheets and towels!

Oh, I almost forgot: Damon posted a good video of American Idol’s David Archuleta performing on the JJ show when he was just eleven years old and I interviewed him briefly afterwards. We also just added a video from my show that featured some of the biggest hits of the 80s including… “That’s the way, uh-huh, uh-huh….” Remember?

Hotels can be really gross. We stayed at the Ramada when we went on our cruise and it wasn’t so bad. I like to check out the hotel photos online because you just don’t know how a hotel is unless you check it out first…
Now, if I don’t trust a hotel I sometimes ask for extra towel and make a path from the shower to the room until I can cover my feet. Going barefoot in a hotel is just not right…lol… 🙂
Oh and Jenny, when we went to Chicago in seeing your show we stayed at the Essex Inn and it was really nice. We had no complaints 🙂

    Take care,

I can so relate to that! I have to be really tired not to think of all the people who slept and did whatever just under that one sheet. And definitely bedspreads are first to go. I can’t imagine they wash the speads after everyone. Oh, and NEVER look under the bed. Oh crap…..probably nothing. Did you see the movie years ago when the girl slept with her arm hanging over the edge of the bed and a hand came out from under the bed? I never let anything hang over the edge. Not since then and I was about 12.

The first thing I do when I check into a hotel (no matter how nice) is take off the off the bedspread, fold it up and put it away.
The next thing I do is take out my small bollte of Comet and clean out the bathtub, sink and toilet.
Then I’m ready for a cocktail.

      Will,

LOL that is a little extreme although I do agree about the bedspread..
I don’t know what is on the bedspread but they don’t wash those each time…Eeeeeeewwwww!

David really has an amazing voice and I love to hear him sing. I like for a singer to hold and carry their voice and they are alot of singers from Idol who do that and David has a voice just like I like in a singer. Carrie and Jordin are a few more I like as well who do the samething with their voice when singing 🙂
    Take care everyone…

    Jenny!

David Archuleta has a very successful singing career. Check him out at a recent promotional tour for his new Cd The Other Side Of Down

Personally I couldn’t stand the whole decade of the 80’s. All of us Blue Collar workers refered to it as the Reagan years. It all started out with John Lennon being gun down and it went downhill ever since.I thought the music of the 80’s sucked as well. So there.

Did you see recently on the news about some man who stayed in a hotel and woke up with hundreds of bed bugs on him!? Yikes!!!!!! Of course he’s suing the hotel but its sickening! He said to have taken the sheets off and finding blood, urine and god knows what else on the mattress. Yuck! I don’t blame you Jenny, I’m the same way, I like to keep things clean. 🙂
