Ladies who lunch

Two lunches in one week – I must be one of those “ladies who lunch.” Β But this time it was seeing an old friend, a Β woman who worked with me during the entire 12-year run of my show so there was lots of catching up. Β We met at the Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas and as soon as we sat down, a woman at the next table said, “Excuse me, but can I ask you a question?” Trying to appear humble, I was all prepared to say, “Why yes, I am the talk show host,” but instead, she threw me a curve. Β “What do you do to have such beautiful skin?” She apologized for interrupting but said my skin was absolutely glowing and then my lunch date said the same thing. This was not the first time I’ve been asked that but it always surprises me because my skin is just my skin -I don’t know – I never really notice it glowing. I told her it’s something I work on regularly, doing scrubs every day, as well as my own facials, and sunblock rain or shine, but I thought it was more my healthy diet: no soft drinks, no alcohol, no fried food, lots of salads, but occasional pizza and that burger at Daily Grill. Today I had actually used a Sisley moisturizer that costs more than our lunch, the shoes I was wearing, and the new front tires on my car. But I switch products all the time and told her my skin looks the same when I use drug store products, too. Well, it was a nice compliment and it motivates me even more to keep taking care of my skin. Click below for My Six Step at Home Facial:

    Well Jenny,
It looks like everything turned out ok. Back at the farm we are sending smiley faces now that we couldn’t before. Thanks to your lunch date, which prompted me to send you a blushing smiley, which then, I asked for help for sending smileys on this blog, now, not only me, but Mrs. News can also send smileys. (I guess we’re keeping up with the Jones) no pun intended!! Me and Mike are hungry and we are going out for dinner. Love you sista!!!!!:) πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Checking to see if these codes work, Jenny…

You know Jenny I get ‘you have such soft skin’ all the time. I went to have my monthly blood draw last month and the tech kept rubbing my arm. I thought she was looking for a vein but she said your skin is so soft I love touching it. I laughed and said my husband says the same thing about my butt…you should rub it cause there is plenty for all of us!

I don’t do anything…I am 57 y/o and I shower daily….done! I think sometimes your skin and complexion are just God given…at least in my case!

You are beautiful and I love reading your stories!

Jenny and Sue, I went goggling and found this. I hope this helps. I will keep searching, but I think this may fix your problem πŸ™‚
One more thing Sue, make sure your browser is up to date, so it wouldn’t hurt to check that out as well. Good luck! πŸ™‚
Oh and Jenny check the link out as well. There are more cool smilies on here you can maybe use on your blog. Check it out and see if we can use them. I don’t want to be messy here with trying it out…lol…

    Jenny,
I don’t want to sound dumb, because I have been on computers for over 20 years, but I can’t seem to add the funny smiley faces that you and so many other bloggers do on this web page. I send them on my cell phone to friends, but what is the function key or trick for this blog???

    Sue

I wish I knew but maybe someone else can advise. I just do the semi-colon + bracket and it comes up smiley. It could be your computer isn’t compatible. Let’s see if help comes in…

  7. Rhonda says:

Jenny, it has to make you feel good to be noticed for being yourself and not a famous person everytime you’re out. Included being noticed of how well you take care of yourself. You truly don’t look your age πŸ™‚
Keep doing what you’re doing. It seems to be paying off for you…
Oh and I’m glad to know you splurge every now and then πŸ˜‰

    Take care,
    Rhonda
