A fossil in the back yard

We found a fossil in the back yard! Our gardener found it on the hill behind the house and he thinks it’s a fish. We were all pretty excited to think about our little spot being here thousands, million, billions of years ago? And under water? I took this picture with the dime to show the size of it. It makes me wonder what else I would find if I went up there for a dig…maybe some rattlesnake bones? On second thought, I’ll let the gardener go up there. Nothing scares him… except for his wife.

That’s interesting, Jenny. My favorite subject in school was Science. It’s a wonder you didn’t grab a shovel and take off to the hill like you do with your camera at times in finding something interesting in your yard 🙂
Be careful out there. There’s no telling what’s been out there for years. Don’t want anyone falling in a mine shaft or anything. That wouldn’t be good…

Wow, that’s pretty cool. That must be some hill you’ve got. Any sign of Jimmy Hoffa?

Last month, The Baron arrived and now fossils are turning up. I wouldn’t doubt it if, Jimmy himself “came-a-knockin”, sometime in the near future! LOL 😀
