1980 Nostalgia

Here’s what happened in 1980:

Mount St. Helens erupted, causing $3 billion in damages.

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back was released.

Gas cost $1.19 a gallon.

Pac-Man, the best selling arcade game of all time, was introduced.

Vigdis Finnbogadottir was elected president of Iceland.

CNN was officially launched.

Ronald Reagan was elected president.

The Polish government recognized solidarity.

My band played a gig at the Black Angus.

And we recorded it! I found an old cassette tape we made and thought it would be fun to share a bit of it. Β Here, for your listening entertainment, is a short “Jenny Jones & Company” compilation. You’ll see what songs were popular in 1980, and you’ll see why we never got a Grammy. πŸ™‚  Click here

Thanks for the “blast from the past” 80’s music. I especially enjoyed the photos and your hairstyles – wait, was that your own curly hair???

    • Jenny says:

Why do you ask? Does it look like a wig? Uh…yes it was my hair. I bought it.

OK JJ that was too funny!! πŸ™‚ your response “I bought it!!” Hey! I have naturally curly hair and sometimes it’s cool, but sometimes it can really suck!! humidity can really turn you into one curly mop!! πŸ™ My hair is shoulder length now, not what I have shown in pics!! And alot more tamed. Love your sense of humor!! πŸ™‚ We had 15 death calls this week and I have been so busy, I’m just responding to these awesome blogs. Too funny G-friend!! Not a fan of American Idol. Never watched it and I probably never will πŸ™ I love singing and playing the guitar, but I work all the time, no time to take it really seriously! I was thinking about taking piano lessons. I have an Ensonic Keyboard downstairs and I play it by ear, but I would love to “bring it to life” with lessons and being able to read notes like the guitar. Maybe if work would just slow down, I would be able to follow my heart like you did. “Love Jenny Jones and Company!!” I read that poem, “The Dash” today at work and it made me start thinking? Take care my sista!! Love, Sue

Jenny, you have a really nice singing voice. I like it…
The pictures of you back then kinda reminds me of a young Tenille from Captain and Tenille. Your singing voice seems a bit softer than Tenille’s though. I think you can sing as good as her, if not better πŸ˜‰

Jennie Jones and Company seemed like a really cool band. Thanks for sharing the clip with us. I enjoyed listening to it πŸ™‚
