How I Spent my Easter

Look what I almost stepped on just outside my back door! This is not the Easter weekend I wanted to have. It was a nice day so I headed outside to check my tomato plants.  If I hadn’t been looking down, I would have stepped right on this snake. It didn’t look like a rattlesnake but I wasn’t sure. To make things worse, he went into a planter right by the patio door so I was afraid to go outside any more. But I still managed to enjoy Easter.  I started off with an Easter egg hunt where I hid some beautiful Polish painted Easter eggs around the house for Denis to find.

He didn’t seem too excited about the search, saying he was a little too old for this, but he did find them all. In exchange, he made me promise never to hide eggs again. He gave me a chocolate bunny for Easter and I made him an apple pie. He says I make the best apple pie in the world so it was my Easter present for him.

Oh, and we went to a Greek Easter Festival in Pasadena. We ate some Greek food, listened to bouzouki music (Opa!) and came home for pie. Then we watched The Ten Commandments. Except for the snake, it was a good Easter.

Good thing you were looking down, Jenny. I think you know to look around you when going out because of your visitors that show up every now and then in your yard. You just never know with a snake because they are so sneaky. Hey, maybe he was wanting an Easter egg, ya think?…lol…

The apple pie looks yummy and I’m glad you had a good Easter as well 🙂

Love your eggs…so pretty!! I think you are going have to come up with some wildlife recipes for all the critters around your house.

You know the one thing I noticed while visiting CA last month was that all the ‘well to do” people had gardeners…It was a hard to go down a road w/o seeing landscaping trucks everywhere!! I hear you talk about your gardener…how many staff workers do you have?

Are you going to watch the Royal Wedding? We are having a Cyber wedding party on FB and we are all wearing cyber hats!

Glad you had a great day…I had a wonderful day with the kids and grandkids…203 plastic eggs for 3 grandkids! I love Easter…my dinner wasn’t good…but the deviled eggs were great! I bought a Honey Baked ham for $8.99 lb….OVER RATED!! I can cook but I am not a good cook! My granddaughter helped me baked a Jello Poke cake with pink Cool Whip and Pink Peeps…hate Peeps!! They loved them!!

    Take care

I have a full time live-out housekeeper (Antonia from El Salvador), a personal assistant (Damon), a team of three gardeners twice a week, a pool guy once a week, a critter catcher once a week, an exterminator once a month, and an annual termite inspection & annual tree trimming. Whew!

Oh no….I have a cleaning lady 2x a month, exterminator quarterly, lawn care service, lawn mowing service, and a pool boy weekly in the summer months…Yikes I didn’t think about it until you said it that way….I need Damon too! No not really my life is too boring for a personal assitant…he would quit from boredom!!

Glad you had a good Easter. =) Hope the snake decides to stay away from your yard.
