Is there something on my neck?

Why is this happening to me? This thing was at my front door today! I opened the door and it was inches from coming inside. What?? At first I thought somebody was playing a joke and it was plastic, but then it moved. I was so stunned I truly was speechless. In 40 years of living in Southern California, I have never seen a scorpion. I did not think they lived here. This is bad, right? Not really.

Here’s the really bad news: Denis said, “Oh, there was one in my office last week but I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to scare you.”

“What?!?” (I swear I just felt something on my neck! – I’ve gotta go)

Oh I almost forgot to say, last week my boyfriend went out of town. So I was home alone for the whole week!! yay! so anyway, It was 3:00 AM I heard a loud noise. I thought that somebody was trying to break in, so I was freaking out!!. The noise got louder and LOUDER so I was getting really scared. The noise which started on the side of the house now now its coming from the roof! I wanted to call the cops I was so terrified. Then the noise went back to the side of the house. So I looked outside, THERE it was a big HUGE fat wild RACOON!! I’ve never im my life seen a racoon that big!

I guess scorpions are also big fans of the Jenny Jones Show too!!! LMAF. He just wanted to see her hero in person and wanted to stop right on in.

OMG Jenny—this takes me back. When we built our house, we had them EVERYWHERE!!! I bet we killed over 20 or so! We were told they like to hang out in lumber mills, etc. YIKES!
One night, while laying in bed, one came out of the a/c vent in the ceiling, landed, well…..”somewhere” on me, and stung the crap outta me! :O

A scorpion is more dangerous than a alligator lizard, so please be careful when you come upon something like this. You’re smart enough to know that already but I’m just saying. I know you get the urge to grab the camera and enjoy taking a unique photo, but keep your distance from danger. Make it a 10 foot rule if you’re not sure what it is. I’m glad you use caution and don’t let the enjoyment of the camera keep you from recognizing danger when it’s there…
I can understand why Denis didn’t tell you, but I think you should have been told anyway that a scorpion was found, so you can look out for those deadly things…
And Jenny, it’s a great picture and you really are brave doing what you do with your camera. You and your camera truly live a dangerous life…
