Look who’s back.
Why? Why? Why? There are other trees to pillage. Life was joyous the last few weeks when he was busy eating all the pine cones off my pine tree. I just walked outside to pick the first apple from my new fall crop. It was the nice big one one near the top that I’ve been watching for weeks and today was the day it would be ready to eat. But it’s gone. Stolen by that mangy, rat-faced, no-good, low-life, beady-eyed, scum-sucking, apple-stealing squirrel! I saw him eating it right there under the tree and ran outside as if I could actually catch him. In three seconds, he was up on the roof and gone. And so was the apple I guess because it was no where to be found. This is totally unacceptable. I am so mad!!!!!! I have to do something. But what? Home Depot doesn’t sell land mines.
Here is what you do.
Put a plastic garbage can under the tree half filled with water. They cannot resist the water but also cannot get back out of the can….plastic. ( they drown )
Or just get a squirrel trap and move him down the hills in the back of the SUV, like maybe drop him in North Hollywood.
It’s more humane than drowning him.
omg.i dont know how you can keep them away, but your sense of humor cracks me up. btw, what is that brown thing i see behind the squirrel? is that his tail? and that squirrel is huge. he looks knocked up or like he ate plenty of apples. all i can say is maybe pick your apples off the tree quick. good luck .kim
Perfect timing for this post!! I just found out why our cat food is going down so quickly. I was looking out my back door and there were TWO “mangy, rat-faced, no-good, low-life, beady-eyed, scum-sucking, cat food-stealing squirrels! We feed cats to keep the mice out of our house and normally it works, with the exception of last weekend, Kya was running around the house with something in her mouth and we were chasing her yelling “drop it Kya! drop it!!” She finally tired out after 20 minutes of running from us and she dropped a dead mouse on our carpet in the living room!! Mike picked it up and put it by the cats bowl while I was standing up on the recliner. 🙂
LOL, funny! Yes it seems to be he’s back. He looks huge holding one of those apples of yours. I agree take him to another state. They can be really annoying creatures and I use to love squirrels but I’ve seen the damage they can do to things and it’s made me dislike them to this day…grrrr!…
Oh and by the way, great picture and I love your close ups. I’m no good with close ups. We have a dead tree out back, close to the fence and I call it my woodpecker house because there’s holes all around the top of it with the bark gone and woodpeckers just love that tree. I tried to get a picture of a woodpecker the other day but he flew away when I was trying to get close enough to him, but one day I hope to get a good shot. Woodpeckers are rare around here and I would love a close up like how you do close ups 🙂
ohhhhh nooooooooo next time take him to another state!!
