Dick Clark R.I.P.
As far back as I can remember even having a TV, I remember Dick Clark.
From American Bandstand to The American Music Awards to New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, Dick was a force in television, music , and pop culture.
His passing yesterday leaves a void I doubt will ever be filled.
Of the thirty shows created by Mr. Clark, I was lucky to have been invited to appear on two.
If you’d like to see them, they are titled “The Other Half” and “Dick Clark Show” on my Vintage Videos page. Great memories.
Jenny ? How did you feel about Levon Helm passing ? I noticed you didn’t mention anything about Davy Jones either. Hmmm.
I had no connection to Levon Helm or Davey Jones but I knew who they were and was sad to hear about their passing. It’s always hard when someone close to your age dies. Davey Jones was a year older than I am! As I get older, I will probably still be surprised when someone my age dies. Dead at 93? So young! What could have happened?? (that’s my goal) 🙂
My mother died when she was only 38 years old and my father will be 94 in June . Figure that one out huh ?
I loved your comment JJ! Yes you will out live many people your age because you are so proactive about health and eating right and I love the fact that you are trying to teach all of us to eat more healthy. I have always loved herbs. I may not do some things that are healthy sometimes, but I always compensate with nutrition.
Thanks for sharing your recipes they are so awesome! I just made your strawberry cake tonite for my fathers 72nd birthday tomorrow. His twin brother died 2 years ago, he was a NYC cop for 35 years and was even featured on Top cops, but he smoked very heavily and drank 😉 You know how to take care of yourself and you have such a will to livelong and you will my friend!! 🙂 You are not old at all!!
Love ya!
Sue
Oh and by the way, rest in peace Dick Clark! We will miss you!

I can remember watching American Bandstand every Saturday afternoon. My favorite thing to watch was American Bandstand. He was such a great host for the show and I’ve always watched his New Year’s Rockin’ Eve every year. I agree with Roll Dog it won’t be the same without him. Watching American Idol tonight my sister told me she thinks Ryan Seacrest will be one to remember as we remember Dick Clark, but I agree with you Jenny, I don’t think there’s anybody out there who can replace him and what he has give us in entertainment…
R.I.P. Dick Clark, you will be truly missed…
Oh and Jenny I enjoyed you videos. Danny was being mean and I enjoyed seeing you come out like you did. He deserved ever whack…lol…I really liked seeing Danny get down on bend and knee to beg for forgiveness. Funny video and thank you for sharing it 🙂
Entertainment and New Year’s Eve/Day won’t be the same without him.
Ahhhhh, New Years went on without Guy Lombardo and Lawerence Welk and it will go on without Dick Clark as well.
nice to see thank you for sharing. 🙂
