R.I.P., Andy Williams

Andy Williams has passed away at age 84. When I was working as a standup comic, I was lucky to open for him at Harrah’s in Reno in 1987. It was just after my Star Search win and I couldn’t believe I was sharing the stage with the man who sang Moon River. He welcomed me on opening night and I truly enjoyed listening backstage during every show to hear that beautiful, mellow voice. Rest in peace, Andy.

Sorry you lost a friend JJ. His vinyl albums were in my house too growing up, my dad loved him.

Btw, update on Jess. She hasn’t gained an ounce and the Dr. is now putting her on a pic/IV at home. She doesn’t want to go back to the hospital. They gave her “Raglan” to try to correct her disease and obviously it isn’t the miracle drug they thought it was for this condition. 🙁
On the other hand, Teka is still with us and doing well. You wouldn’t even know that she has cancer. We take our walks and she eats like a horse!! 🙂 She loves to play.

I’m glad you got to share in Andy Williams life. It must have been so exciting for you!
    Take Care JJ!

I remember my Mom’s records and albums I use to listen to as a kid and she still has them and if I’m not mistaken, she has a few of Andy’s records. I’ve been youtubing his songs and I can remember “can’t take my eyes off you” She has one maybe 2 of his albums, but I vaguely remember him. I was maybe 6 or 7 when I use to listen to my Mom’s albums. I loved to spend the day playing records all day. It kept us busy and was a lot of fun 🙂

R.I.P. Andy Williams. You will be truly missed…
